High-Risk Orders
High-Risk Orders automatically blocks visitors associated with orders that Shopify Fraud Analysis has identified as High Risk.
When Shopify flags an order as High Risk, MIDA records the visitor’s IP address and automatically blocks future visits from the same IP, helping prevent repeat fraud without requiring manual action.
How High-Risk Orders Work
Section titled “How High-Risk Orders Work”The protection workflow is simple:
- A customer places an order.
- Shopify analyzes the order using Shopify Fraud Analysis.
- If the order is marked as High Risk, MIDA records the visitor’s IP address.
- Future visits from the same IP address are automatically blocked.
This protection only applies after Shopify has identified an order as High Risk.
Enable High-Risk Orders
Section titled “Enable High-Risk Orders”To enable this feature:
- Go to Checkout Rules.
- Open High-Risk Orders.
- Turn on the Enable High-Risk Orders toggle.
- Click Save.
Once enabled, MIDA will automatically protect your store whenever Shopify detects a new High-Risk Order.
High-Risk Orders vs. Block Fake Orders
Section titled “High-Risk Orders vs. Block Fake Orders”Although both features help reduce fraud, they work at different stages of the customer journey.

|---|---|---|
| Detection source | Shopify Fraud Analysis | MIDA fraud detection |
| Protection timing | After an order is created | Before an order is created |
| Action | Automatically blocks future visits from the same IP | Applies checkout protection immediately |

Which Feature Should You Use?
Section titled “Which Feature Should You Use?”For the best protection, we recommend enabling both features.
